1. Who we are

Pyar ("we", "us", "our") operates the Pyar mobile application and the website pyarapp.com. For questions about this policy, contact us at jawad@pyarapp.com.

2. Information we collect

• Phone number — collected at registration for identity verification via one-time passcode (OTP).
• Family profile information — family name, city, and details about the family member seeking a match (first name, age, sect, education, profession, and similar attributes entered voluntarily by the parent).
• Photos — uploaded voluntarily. Photos are blurred until a mutual match is confirmed.
• Location — city-level only. Precise GPS coordinates are never stored or shared with other users.
• Device information — device type, OS version, and push notification token for delivering app notifications.
• Usage data — in-app interactions such as swipes, matches, and chat activity, used to improve the service.

3. SMS and phone communications

We use SMS messaging solely to deliver one-time passcodes (OTP) for account verification. By providing your phone number you consent to receive this single transactional SMS. We do not send marketing SMS messages. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply. You may contact jawad@pyarapp.com to request deletion of your phone number and account at any time.

4. How we use your information

• To verify your identity and create your account.
• To show your family profile to other families in the discovery feed.
• To facilitate matches, in-app chat, and voice/video calls between matched families.
• To send push notifications about interests, matches, and messages.
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations.

5. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:

• Twilio — to deliver OTP SMS messages.
• Stream — to power in-app chat.
• AWS / CloudFront — to store and serve photos securely.
• OneSignal — to deliver push notifications.
• Law enforcement or regulators when required by law.

6. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing jawad@pyarapp.com. We will action deletion requests within 30 days.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS, JWT authentication, hashed tokens, and server-side enforcement of photo blurring. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's privacy

Pyar is intended for use by adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. The family member profiles created within the app must also be for individuals aged 18 or older.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights contact us at jawad@pyarapp.com.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use of Pyar after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
